Automatic Mainframe Migration: a winner strategy
Who we are
SW, founded in 1997, is made up of professionals with extensive experience in mainframes, Linux/Unix, relational databases, migration projects and application development.
SW have been working with Unisys mainframe performance and capacity analysis since 1998, after releasing first SoftView version, our data collector and analysis software.
In all these years, we have been able to reduce mainframe usage on many clients by allowing their systems to be processed with the right-sized hardware.
In 2001 SW started to migrate Unisys mainframes to open-source systems, using a set of tools developed to execute an automatic translation and reduce time and cost of migration projects.
In 2006 SW released the first version of SW-Eagle framework, a robust development and production framework that is used in all migration project and mimics mainframe environment in many aspects.
This allows a smoothly step for leave original environment and process the migrated application in a new platform.
In addition, the impact of environment change on the development team is as small as possible, since the generated code has java methods similar to the commands of the original language.
